Brovdi Art is taking part in “Book Arsenal 2018”

The most powerful intellectual event of the country, uniting literature and art – today, on 30 May, the 8th International Festival "Book Arsenal" is starting in Kyiv. More than 150 publishing houses and projects are presenting their best novelties. Moreover, about 200 Ukrainian writers and 100 guests from 31 countries of the world are going to take part in the forum. This year, Brovdi Art Foundation participates in the Book Arsenal for the first time. In partnership with the Abramovych.Art platform and ArtHuss publishing house, the foundation is presenting several books.

It should be noted that on the eve of the main book-publishing forum of Ukraine, Brovdi Art and Abramovych.Art founded a new specialized publishing series "Ukrainian Art XX-XXI". The purpose of this project is to contribute to the research and popularization of national contemporary art, spreading of the publication on art history and modernity, leading masters, art schools and trends, as well as remarkable events, trends and phenomena.

The first two books in this series are to be presented within the framework of the “Book Arsenal 2018”. This is a monograph of the famous art critic and art historian Galyna Sklyarenko "Ukrainian Artists: From the Khrushchev Thaw till the Independence Time" (vol.1) as well as the 3rd enlarged edition of her book "Contemporary Art of Ukraine. Portraits of Painters". The thematic presentation of both editions entitled "A painter and his era: contradictions and paradoxes of the Ukrainian art development of the second half of the 20th century" with the participation of Galyna Sklyarenko, Igor Abramovych (Abramovych.Art), Nataliya Brovdi (Brovdi Art) and Kostiantyn Kozhemiaka (ArtHuss) will be held on 31 May 2018 from 4.00 to 4.45 p.m. at the Publishing Site (2nd floor) of the Book Arsenal.

In addition, on 31 May 2018 from 5.00 to 5.45 in the UVK hall (1st floor), presented will be another interesting project – a book of Donald Thompson "The Orange Balloon Dog. Bubbles, Turmoil And Avarice In The Contemporary Art Market” translated into Ukrainian. The partners of this publication are Brovdi Art Foundation, Abramovych.Art platform and auction house “Golden Section”.
