Brovdi Art Foundation acted as a partner of Anatolii Kryvolap’s Prize

To help young people find their way in art, to support them on the path of creative development - this is the major goal of the Prize, founded by the famous Ukrainian artist Anatolii Kryvolap. The partner of the Prize was Art & Culture Foundation Brovdi Art (founders - Robert and Nataliya Brovdi), which co-operates with the artist in holding of the Student Contest in Painting “Silver Easel”. The first presentation of the Prize was in the capital of Ukraine these days. The ceremony was held within the framework of plein air of contemporary art KYIV ART FORT on the territory of the Kyiv fortress.

The Prize was founded in 2016 with the aim of supporting young Ukrainian artists so that they can determine their creative direction, learn and develop. To obtain it, the completed art works of students of the 7 higher art educational institutions of Ukraine are put forward. The total prize fund at the initial stage amounted to the equivalent of 5,000 USD, but as a result, thanks to Art & Culture Foundation Brovdi Art it was doubled.

In the category “Painting” the first place was decided not to be awarded, however, the Jury noted four works, whose authors will receive 1,500 USD. Thus, the prize will be received by Zakhar Shevchuk (“Babylon”), Hanna Kruhliak-Dryha (“Dead Milk”), Polina Shcherbyna (“Half of Half Personality”) and Kateryna Krutii (“The Flowers of War”).

During the awarding ceremony, Anatolii Kryvolap noted that now future artists have to study for a long time and modern education to some extent resembles zombiefication. That is why one should look for his own ways of development: “Any university or any professor won’t make artists of you. This is something that you must achieve independently, taking into account your own abilities and listening to your inner world. Experiment without complexes. Tear out the artist from yourself! It can be painful, unpleasant, scary, but it's worth it.”

By the way, these May days at the gallery of Lviv National Academy of Arts it was held a personal exhibition of the winner of Anatolii Kryvolap’s Prize and winner of the 2nd All-Ukrainian Student Contest in Painting “Silver Easel” Petro Hrytsiuk under the title “Painted”.
