The winners are defined: 2nd All-Ukrainian Student Contest in Painting “Silver Easel” has been finished in Uzhhorod

From April 25 to 29, 2017 the 2nd All-Ukrainian Student Contest in Painting "Silver Easel" was held in Uzhhorod. 51 students of 2-6 years of art specialties from 17 higher educational institutions of Ukraine of III-IV level of accreditation took part in it.

The organizer of the contest was Art & Culture Foundation “Brovdi Art”.

Such events give an opportunity for creative youth to express themselves, compare their level of mastery with peers from other universities, gain new experience and knowledge. It is also a chance to get acquainted with the adult art world - famous artists, gallery owners, art historians, learn something valuable and useful, get an objective and competent assessment of their creativity. We believe that "Silver Easel" is a project that will become a positive turning point in the Ukrainian young art space,”– noted the founders of Art & Culture Foundation “Brovdi Art” Robert and Nataliya Brovdi.


The Organizing Committee of the contest received applications for participation of about 350 students from 67 educational institutions. According to the results of the secret rating evaluation by the expert council, 51 students successfully passed the pre-selection stage.

The authoritative Jury of the contest evaluated the works of the participants in three categories: "Cityscape", "Portrait", and "Improvisation". 

The jury of the contest among others consisted of the eminent Ukrainian artists – Anatolii Kryvolap, Tiberiy Szilvashi, an academician Andrii Chebykin, master of Ukrainian painting Volodymyr Mykyta, famous art critic Halyna Skliarenko, artists Oleksandr Babak, Petro Hulyn, Vladyslav Habda, Volodymyr Petrashyk, rector of Transcarpathian Academy of Arts Ivan Nebesnyk, Head of the Transcarpathian Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Borys Kuzma.


Based on the results of the secret vote of the Jury members, the winners of the 2nd All-Ukrainian Student Contest in Painting "Silver Easel" became:

In the nomination “Cityscape”

The 1st place – Veronika Syrotkina (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture)

The 2nd place – Maksym Hospodynchyk (Transcarpathian Art Academy)

The 3rd place – Kateryna Shelevytska (Transcarpathian Art Academy)

In the nomination “Improvisation”

The 1st place – Maksym Hospodynchyk (Transcarpathian Art Academy);

The 2nd place – Volodymyr Kohut (Lviv National Art Academy);

The 3rd place – Veronika Syrotkina (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture);

In the nomination “Portrait”

The 1st place – Maksym Hospodynchyk (Transcarpathian Art Academy);

The 2nd place – Veronika Syrotkina (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture);

The 3rd place – Perto Hrytsiuk (Lviv National Art Academy).

Many participants received special prizes from the partners of the contest, in particular, it was awarded:

by the auction house "Golden Section" – Anastasiia Mitikova (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts);

by Sky Art Foundation – Veronika Syrotkina (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture);

by Maksym and Yuliia Voloshyn, the founders of Contemporary Art Gallery Voloshyn Gallery – Perto Hrytsiuk (Lviv National Art Academy); Volodymyr Kohut (Lviv National Art Academy), Ihor Nekrakha (Regional Communal Institution "Kharkiv College of Culture");

by «Royal Talens» – Stanislav Illiashenko (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts).

Anastasiia Telychuk (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture) received a special award from the artist Anatolii Kryvolap.

An art dealer Igor Abramovych awarded three participants: Oleh Drobotskyi (Lviv National Academy of Arts), Veronika Syrotkina (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture), and Diana Faksh (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture).

Media partner of the contest - the founder of the information portal "Arts Looker", Mykhailo Kyreito also noted the work of Diana Faksh (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture) and offered her as an award to organize this year the exhibition of her works in Kyiv art space "SKLO".

Art-residence "Grand Transportation" awarded three participants, whose work was noted by its representative, with ten-day rest: Petro Hrytsiuk (Lviv National Academy of Arts), Anastasiia Mitikova (Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts), and Oleksii Omelchenko (National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture).

In addition, all participants received from the Dutch company «Royal Talens» sets of oil paints Van Gogh and set of liners Sakura.

All contestants received certificates of participants and gifts. The works of young artists will be published in the project catalogue.

"Silver Easel" is held for the second time. Last year, 44 students from 22 universities of 13 regions of Ukraine took part in the art contest of young talents (See more on https://molbert.brovdi.art/2016/).
