Exhibition of contemporary Transcarpathian art "Goodbye, Word!" will be held in Kyiv

On 4 May 2018, at the exhibition centre "Museum of History of Kyiv" with the support of Art & Culture Foundation Brovdi Art, it will be opened a group project of contemporary Transcarpathian art titled "Goodbye, Word!". Taken part in it are more than two dozen artists who will present paintings, graphics, sculpture, photo, video, art objects and installations.

According to the curator of the project Taras Tabaka, "Goodbye, Word!" is a project on the evolutionary processes both within the framework of the traditional school and outside it. Changes that have taken place in Transcarpathian art over the last decades have an impact on its contemporary face and sphere of attention. The difficult historical experience of the border territories and cognitive dissonance experienced during the years of independence became the basis for the detached contemplation of the world, distrust of the word, conscious careful delineation between information and communication, to which art is subordinated in principle. The discourse between communication and information, the practice of solitude and the rejection of mentoring, the movement towards a new sensuality in the context of global networks – such are the main themes and accents of the creative project "Goodbye, Word!".

Taken part in this event will be the artists: Gabriel Buletsa, Andriy Voznicki, Olesia Voznytska, Vladyslav Habda, Vladyslav Horbunov, Robert Dovganych, Viktor Domin, Vasyl Kadar, Pavlo Kerestey, Pavlo Kovach, Beata Korn, Viktor Melnychuk, Istvan Molnar, Ivan Nebesnyk, Volodymyr Pavlyshyn, Nata Popova, Eduard Prykhodko, Taras Tabaka, Emma Tremba, Ruslan Tremba, Oleh Tokar, Mykhailo Khodanych, Volodymyr Cherepania and Dmytro Fesenko.

The exposition will last until 22 May inclusive.
