Exhibition “Goodbye, Word!”. Work of Gabriel Buletsa from the cycle “Collection”

Scientific consultant of the exhibition, art critic Oksana Havrosh: «Gabriel Buletsa avoids the outrageous things – the fastest way to attract the audience's attention. This position of the artist has its advantages, but at the same time is quite exotic. For many years, the author's allies have been time and space, context and thought. It is no coincidence that Buletsa is associated with the development of abstract painting and conceptual art in Transcarpathia.

One of the features of the contemporary art determines the serial nature of the artist's thinking. Thus, the 1990s were marked in the artist's creativity by the cycles "Collection" and "Quarter" where, by the minimalistic means and metaphoric postmodern, he was thinking about the relations ‘person – city’, ‘person – person’. Matchboxes on wooden boards – visual structures on a thin surface between matter and spirit, between symbol and a joke. Looking through the works, through the signs and symbols in the associative fields, it appears failures in the environment, urbanization and passion for technocracy".
