Exhibition "Goodbye, Word!". Reviews and comments. Olha Sobkovych

An art critic, editor of the "Fine Art" magazine Olha Sobkovych:

"The exhibition made very positive impressions, because it is a focused demonstration of the contemporary art. We know a lot about the Transcarpathian school of painting, its founders, coryphaei. Students of Kyiv higher educational institutions write their diploma works about them, they are very famous. And it is very good that in Transcarpathia there are artists who speak about today's life using contemporary language and form.

We often say that contemporary art is incomprehensible. In fact, it is very understandable, because it is today and about today. Therefore, this exhibition delicately shows what differs the worldview of the Transcarpathian artists from Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv ones. And all this is connected with the school. Geographical feature of the location, historical moments that had an impact on the region, they all transformed into the present. And everything is seen by the exhibition.

There were a lot of wonderful works: Viktor Melnychuk, Beata Korn, Olesia Voznytska and Andriy Voznicki. I really liked the exhibition. It allows you to understand what a contemporary Transcarpathia is. Kyiv is very saturated with exhibitions, we revolve around our artists, whom we know in Kyiv. And when such exhibitions are from the other regions of Ukraine, it is like a breath of fresh air which slightly dilutes the environment and gives answers to the questions: how the other region develops, for example, what is the living of the Transcarpathia artists? What can Kyiv artists learn from them? This is a dialogue between different art centres and it is always relevant. This exhibition is an enrichment of the contemporary art context and a certain exchange of experience."
